Cambio Language School is linked to NGO Niños de Guatemala. Because of Cambio’s close relationship with the nonprofit Niños de Guatemala (NDG), we are able to offer Cambio students priority volunteer placements working at NDG’s two primary schools for disadvantaged children. If you would like to combine Spanish lessons with volunteering at Niños de Guatemala we offer different volunteer packages. NDG and Cambio will work together to make sure that your Spanish class schedule and your volunteering schedule fit together perfectly!
At the schools, you will have the opportunity to work as a teacher’s assistant during morning National Curriculum classes, as a teacher of Creative Expression classes in the afternoon, or as a one-on-one remedial tutor for children that have fallen behind. What’s more, NDG and Cambio will work together to make sure that your Spanish class schedule and your volunteering schedule fit together perfectly!
Niños de Guatemala recommends that volunteers stay for at least one month, so that the volunteers have as full of an experience as possible, and the children at the schools experience continuity with the same volunteers. However, NDG is willing to extend a special offer to students of Cambio, allowing them to volunteer for a two-week period.
If you are interested in volunteering in an area other than education, we can offer you a placement within tourism as one of our guides and coordinators, in addition, we are more than happy to connect you with one of the many volunteer organizations working out of Antigua.
