Founded in 2006, Niños de Guatemala (NDG) is a Dutch-Guatemalan NGO that provides education to underprivileged children who would otherwise not have access to it in order to empower them, their families, and communities to break the cycle of poverty. NDG founded and operates two primary schools and one secondary school for approximately 500 students in the communities of Ciudad Vieja and San Lorenzo el Cubo.

In Guatemala, although education is technically free, the cost of school supplies, uniforms and transportation often prevent children from attending school, and public schools are overcrowded and lack proper resources. NDG works to help more children receive the education they deserve by partnering in collaboration with families living below the poverty line on their children’s education.

In its 3 schools, NDG provides education that extends beyond the traditional classroom and strives to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of our students, as well as the academic. Students receive the courses of the Guatemalan Department of Education’s national curriculum as well as classes in English, Computer Literacy, and Financial Responsibility (Aflatoun) and workshops in tutoring and Artistic Expression. All children in NDG’s schools receive a daily nutritionally balanced snack, routine medical and dental care, instruction on proper health and hygiene, and access to on-site social work and psychology departments.

100% net profit of all services booked with Impact Experiences is donated directly to Niños de Guatemala to support the education and empowerment of these ~500 children and contribute to a better future for Guatemala.
